The client is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to support quality assurance activities related to purchased materials and supplier performance. In this role, the consultant will manage supplier-related quality issues, coordinate improvement initiatives, and ensure that supplier materials meet the client’s quality and operational standards.
The position involves close collaboration with production teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve material-related deviations, perform root cause investigations, and strengthen quality processes within the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer supplier complaints related to purchased materials, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up within the client’s complaint management system (SAP).
- Receive quality deviation cases from production teams and register and track them within the internal system.
- Request and follow up on corrective action reports (8D) from responsible suppliers, ensuring responses are accurate and submitted within the required timeframe.
- Coordinate and initiate inspections of warehouse materials that may be affected by identified quality issues.
- Determine when incoming inspections should be implemented for future material deliveries.
- Take ownership of supplier-related quality cases and communicate updates with all relevant stakeholders during the resolution process.
- Coordinate and document supplier deviation approvals when exceptions to standard specifications are required.
- Organize and document performance or outcome testing for new components, including situations involving supplier changes.
- Monitor supplier performance at a general level and escalate critical issues to the strategic Supplier Quality Engineer when necessary.
- Lead or support continuous improvement activities related to purchased materials and internal quality processes.
Total Years of Experience Required
- At least a few years of experience in a similar role within quality engineering, supplier quality, or manufacturing environments.
Education Required
- A university degree in a relevant technical field, such as Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical education and experience.
Skills Required
- Supplier Quality Management
- Root Cause Analysis methodologies (8D, DMAIC, or similar)
- Experience with manufacturing processes and production environments
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Quality deviation management
- Process improvement and quality control
- SAP or similar complaint management systems
- Stakeholder communication and collaboration
- Strong technical understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes
Language Requirement
- Swedish – Fluent (spoken and written)
- English – Good working proficiency (spoken and written)
