One of Nordic Investin’s partner companies is looking for a Cloud FinOps Engineer, with Nordic Investin leading the recruitment process. You can read a cloud bill, trace the engineering behaviour behind it and help teams make better choices without blocking delivery.
The partner wants stronger control over cloud economics across growing Azure and AWS estates. You will connect cost data with architecture, ownership and product priorities, then turn findings into changes engineers can act on.
The platform is treated as a service used by engineers and business teams. Success will be measured through safer change, lower operational friction and clearer ownership rather than the number of tools introduced.
How you will workThe work combines planned platform development with investigation of real production behaviour. You will collaborate with application teams, security and operations, using their feedback to decide what should become a shared service, an automated control or clear documentation. Ownership continues after the first release.
You will receive meaningful ownership while working with senior colleagues on the most consequential decisions. The partner expects you to deliver independently within a clear area, ask for context early and contribute ideas grounded in what you observe. There is room to deepen your specialism or broaden toward adjacent responsibilities.
What you will doBuild accurate cost allocation and tagging models.
Create dashboards for spend, unit economics and forecast variance.
Identify idle capacity, inefficient services and commitment opportunities.
Work with teams on rightsizing and architecture changes.
Establish practical budget, anomaly and accountability processes.
Communicate savings opportunities without losing operational context.
Experience in cloud engineering, FinOps, technology finance or analytics.
Good understanding of Azure or AWS pricing and billing.
Strong data analysis and visualisation ability.
Ability to discuss tradeoffs with engineers and finance teams.
Experience defining allocation or showback models.
Professional English and careful attention to evidence.
FinOps Foundation certification.
Terraform or cloud automation experience.
Cost optimisation in Kubernetes or data platforms.
You may come from engineering and have developed a commercial instinct, or from finance and have built strong cloud fluency. The partner is open to either route if you can connect technical choices with credible numbers.
What makes the opportunity interestingThis role gives you access to decisions before costs become fixed. You will make cloud investment easier to understand and help teams spend deliberately while preserving the performance and resilience their products require.
The exact partner, employment model, compensation, start date and working arrangement will be explained openly during the process. Nordic Investin will make sure you understand the context, expectations and decision path before you are asked to commit significant time.
The recruitment conversationDuring the process, Nordic Investin will focus on concrete decisions you have made: the context you received, the alternatives you considered, the result you observed and what you would change today. You do not need every optional technology if your core experience transfers and you can explain how you would close the gap.
How to applyApply with your CV or LinkedIn profile and a short note describing the most relevant system, product or transformation you have helped deliver. Nordic Investin welcomes candidates with different routes into technology and assesses applicants on relevant capability, judgement and potential.
