System Safety Specialist

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a System Safety Specialist to join their Enabling Platform Architecture department. This department is responsible for designing electrical architectures, including topology, logical architecture, function allocation, base technologies, system safety, and cybersecurity. Within this structure, the Secure Platform team serves as a center of expertise, focusing on system safety and cybersecurity practices.

In this role, the selected professional will be part of the System Safety team and will contribute to ensuring that products and services are developed and delivered in a safe and reliable manner for customers. The position involves close collaboration with multiple teams across the organization to support safety-related activities throughout the product lifecycle.

The role covers the entire development cycle, including functional safety impact analysis, hazard analysis and risk assessment, development of functional and technical safety concepts, validation and verification activities, safety case development, and joint safety reviews with suppliers. The position may also require travel to China several times per year as part of project collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute functional safety activities for vehicle and platform development projects in accordance with ISO 26262 standards.
  • Conduct Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) to identify and evaluate potential system hazards.
  • Develop Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and Technical Safety Concepts (TSC) to ensure system compliance with safety requirements.
  • Perform safety analysis techniques such as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Develop, maintain, and present the Safety Case, ensuring full traceability from safety goals through implementation and verification.
  • Carry out verification, confirmation, and technical reviews of safety-related work products.
  • Support and drive ASIL decomposition strategies and contribute to safety release milestones.
  • Lead and participate in System Safety Joint Reviews with suppliers.
  • Contribute to functional safety planning, governance, and the continuous improvement of safety processes and guidelines.


Education Requirement:

  • Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) or Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
